The Third Sector is permanently under pressure. Historically many organisations have been dependent upon funding - supplied either in the form of local authority or government grants.
In a changing economic climate, the need for many organisations to secure additional income streams has never been more important. It can make the difference between successfully supporting your community or facing closure.
A new generation of third sector organisations are emerging. Social enterprise companies are a new generation of organisation that are developed with the intention of putting something back into the community. You can read about some of these in our amazing stories.
One of the fundamental aims of Amazing People, is to showcase the wealth of expertise and knowledge held within South Yorkshire's third sector and to help voluntary and community organisations to forge stronger links with businesses and the public sector.
